Estate of the late Veronese Atkins, Southern Pines, NC

John Pontus Petterson studied silversmithing at the Royal School of Arts & Crafts in Norway. He then moved to New York City and worked as a silversmith with Tiffany & Co. from 1905-1911. He moved to Chicago and worked with Robert Jarvie, but opened his own studio in 1914, The Petterson Studio. He and his assistants designed and crafted high quality sterling flatware, holloware, trophies, jewelry and more throughout the 1920s.
