Continental, possibly Dutch, mid-19th century, mahogany, mahogany veneers, oak secondary, two-part form, upper case with broken arch pediment and dentil molding, fluted central plinth supports a well carved and pronounced lion, two hinged doors with flame crotch mahogany veneers, corner posts surmounted with classical carved and painted female busts, doors open to reveal five interior small drawers and three shelf interior, lower case features three full width long drawers, each with book matched veneers and applied reeded molding, flanked by canted corners with acanthus carving, front carved hairy paw feet.
