English Tall Case Clock, Early 19th c.,

The case of mahogany, figured mahogany and banded mahogany veneers, string inlay. The square hood has a single door flanked by fully turned reeded columns, a shaped waist door flanked by reeded half columns, raised on an applied bracket foot base. The polychrome enameled face with Roman numerals and second dial, is decorated with a nautilus motif at each corner. With weights and pendulum, not guaranteed to be in working condition.

Heavy crazing to face as well as minor paint loss. Possible later works on new seatboard. The hood with chips and loss to cornice; the base with veneer lifts and cracks.
