Leather Monogram Canvas Travel Bag, Louis Vuitton
Lot Details & Additional Photographs
1970s, manufactured by The French Company under special license for Louis Vuitton, the bag designed as a stylish soft sided travel bag perfect for accessories, composed of monogram canvas and caramel colored leather trim with plated nickel hardware and oval leather plaque to the front which may be monogrammed by heat stamping (no monogram currently present), the interior lined in clear vinyl and with multiple pockets for easy storage, all tags confirming authenticity are present, completed by a zipper closure which snaps into a lock on one side and original lock keys.

12 (not incl. handle) x 6 x 15.1 in.

Due to the increasing demand for Louis Vuitton products in the United States by the 1970s, Louis Vuitton contracted out the French Company, an American based firm, to produce Louis Vuitton luggage and handbags under special license within the United States and sell them through high end department stores such as Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue. This partnership lasted until the early 1990's.

In very good vintage condition with light wear associated with age and use. There is some light scuffing and wear to caramel colored leather trim and a few very small white marks to the monogram canvas. Overall though this does not detract from the over all look of the bag and not noticeable when in use.
