Possibly couture, French, circa 1955, the first piece designed as a shift style dress of patterned checkered wool in various shades of brown, the dress lined in burgundy silk and unlabeled; the second piece designed as a short cropped jacket en suite lined in pale pink silk with label "Nina Ricci Paris" and "Made in France."

In very good vintage condition with light wear associated with use and the age of the garment, one small spot of wear near back of zipper but not obtrusive. Dress has been relined and shortened slightly. Recently professionally dry cleaned.
