Important Chain Mail Bracelet, Joseff of Hollywood
Lot Details & Additional Photographs
American, late 1930s, designed as an eight row chain mail link bracelet composed of white plated base metal, set at intervals with beadwork bar stations, completed by slide in clasp, stamped on the reverse "Joseff" in block letters for Joseff of Hollywood.

7" long

Estate of Shirley and Harold Brenner, Cary NC and formerly of Studio City, California and New York

Eugene Joseff, founder of Joseph of Hollywood, can be credited as the first jeweler who catered specifically to the film industry. His jewelry and accessories were worn and used by Vivian Leigh and Clark Gable in "Gone With the Wind", Elizabeth Taylor in "Cleopatra", and Grace Kelly in "High Society" among many others.

In very good condition for age and use with obvious wear to white metal plating; several of the links on the side with miss happing, possibly as made. While the bracelet measures 7" long, due to its construction, it fits closer to a 6.5" wrist.
