Qing Dynasty, each with inscribed Qianlong reign mark (possibly of the period) with gilt detail, each deeply carved with a figural landscape featuring pagodas against a diapered ground, key fret carving to feet, applied metal band to lip and foot ring. Each presented atop a custom hardwood stand. Bowl 3.5 x 6.5 in. diameter; HOA 6.25 in.

From the Estate of Captain Benjamin Soule Gantz and Ethyle Offutt Gantz, Shanghai, China and Washington, D.C.

Purchased in Shanghai in the 1920s.

Both with denting to metal ring at mouth; one bowl missing metal foot ring; one stand missing leg and with stretcher detached but present; both bowls with some flaking to interior and scattered damage to exterior.
