The first, Qing Dynasty, ink and wash on paper mounted to later silk, unsigned, depicts a couple speaking to a traveler while a crane flies overhead. It is unsigned, dates Qing Dynasty and has later mount (DOA 91 x 24.75 in.; painting 63.75 x 18.75 in.); the second scroll an ink and color landscape depicting a summer scene with a scholar seated under a tree trunk, on a silk mount, having an inscription and signed in calligraphy on the left side, and has an artist seal (DOA 63 x 17.5 in.; painting 25 x 12.5 in.).

The second scroll has a wooden lower or earth rod.

The first scroll has minor foxing and toning to the painting; the second scroll painting has minor creases and there is staining and creasing to the silk mount.
