19th century, the first a nattoor, wooden construction, overall exterior lacquer with paint decoration, hipped lid, brass furniture, the interior with two compartments, one covered and one open. Such boxes have been used for tea, jewelry and writing implements (8.5 x 13.25 x 10.25 in.) (Some chips and scuffs; the brass binding on two corners of the lid is bent; wood shrinkage does not allow full closure; lacking one brass tack); the second box of wood inlaid with brass decoration, the interior lined with paper and having a folding panel on the lid's underside (4.5 x 10.75 x 7.5 in.) (Minor scuffs; bottom loose; missing key for the lock).
