Such boxes have been used for tea, jewelry and writing implements (8.5 x 13.25 x 10.25 in.) (Some chips and scuffs; the brass binding on two corners of the lid is bent; wood shrinkage does not allow full closure; lacking one brass tack); the second box of wood inlaid with brass decoration, the interior lined with paper and having a folding panel on the lid's underside (4.5 x 10.75 x 7.5 in.) (Minor scuffs; bottom loose; missing key for the lock).
