C. 1800-1810, New England,two part form of mahogany with light wood line inlay throughout, the secondary wood is white pine, the upper section having an broken arch pediment with pinwheel terminus, central flame finial above dentil molding, two glass doors with Chippendale fretwork enclose a shelved interior. The base consists of a fall front with divided interior above threee graduated cock-beaded drawers, bracket foot base.

Drawer with letter dated 1899 stating ownership of the desk to Governor Wentworth of New Hampshire. Sir John Wentworth (1737-1820) was the British American Colonial Governor of New Hampshire at the time of the American Revolution.

Overall with restoration and in need of further repairs; replaced writing surface; feet shortened. To the top cornice frieze on both sides there is shrinkage, split, and loss. The pulls have been replaced. There is loss to the left back mid molding.
