Estate of the late Dr. Stewart Penfold Blake of Palo Alto, CA and Charlotte, NC Stewart Penfold Blake (Col. USArmy Ret.) was a proud soldier, superb story-teller, lover of music from Mozart to Benny Goodman, gracious host, wine connoisseur and knowledgeable art lover. Among his many proud accomplishments were his design of the test track for Porsche in Stuttgart, Germany and his design for carrying Venezuelan oil from the fields to the sea. His estate represents his life in appreciation of history and diverse cultures.

Hamada is regarded as one of the most influential masters of studio pottery, recognized for the simplicity of his designs. This man, who was once declared a 'national living treasure,' is considered to be the jewel in studio pottery's crown.
