Circa 1828, with the hallmarks "S. Kirk" for Samuel Kirk (1793-1872) and Baltimore assay mark and letter "F," classical water pitcher form with exuberant repousse work featuring figures and buildings within an expansive fantastical lanscape, further decorated with flora repousse, all against a stippled sky and chased expanse of water, cartouche beneath spout with period engraved "C," shaped rim, cast and applied acanthus scroll handle, the conforming foot with rocaille and coral type stippling (commonly seen on textiles of the period).
