Etching, pencil signed in lower right mat, the artist's monogram, title and 1892 date in the plate, presented in a vintage gilt frame, the leatherette backing having the gallery label of Arthur Ackermann & Son, Inc., Chicago, which describes this work as an "original etching" and gives a provenance of "From the Tracy Dows' Collection." Proficient in several media, Anders Zorn was one of Sweden's most prolific and acclaimed artists. He studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts in Stockholm while yet a teenager and thereafter applied his talents to both continental and American subjects. Zorn's renown was such that he was commissioned to paint three American presidents.
