Both from the Republic period, the plaque of rectangular form painted with birds on a flowering branch, inscribed with a poem and artist's name in upper left corner (14.5 x 9 5/8 in.); the brush pot of rectangular form, two sides featuring scholars in a landscape, the other two sides featuring birds on flowering branches, inscribed with poetry and the artist's name and seal, stamped to underside (6 x 4.5 x 4.5 in.).
