The first depicting a robed nobleman wearing a long pearl necklace and holding a branch of coral, the robe finely etched and inked with dragon design, partially rubbed red stamped mark to base (7.25 in.); the second carving of an old man holding a branch laden with peaches across his shoulders and cradling a large peach against his chest (hole to head) (5.5 in.).

Estate of the late Frances Hoefle of Sarasota, Florida and LaJolla, California. She and her husband, Robert, traveled extensively throughout Hong Kong, Africa, India, and elsewhere during the 1950s and 1960s. A life-long collector of fine art and antiques, she served as a docent at the Ringling Museum in Sarasota, sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm with the public.
