Oil on canvas (lined), signed at lower right "Elliott Daingerfield," allegorical scene with religious tones depicts a Madonna figure cradling a child on her lap while another young child with pennant extends a grape bunch, a white rabbit in the lower right floral strewn ground passively watches the scene, the entire tableaux set against a twilight landscape with white temple on a rise beyond. The painting is housed in a later gilt wood frame with composition ornament.

SS 11.5 x 15 3/8 in.; DOA 16 x 20 in.

Records maintained by the Carrig-Rohane Shop, Inc. in Boston note that they framed this painting in October 1921. The original frame has since been sold. This painting is registered in the Inventories of American Painting and Sculpture, Smithsonian American Art Museum, control number IAP 9E900002
