With "TN" sponsor's mark in a rectangular punch and the lion passant touchmark, 19th century, engraved "Botham" and "Salt Hill" on each arm and with crest at top, the inscriptions may reference Botham's hotel in Salt Hill which the 1839 The Great Western, Cheltenham and Great Western, and Bristol and Exeter Railroad Guides describes as "commanding fine views of Eton College and Windsor Castle."
