The first by Frank Willard (American, 1893-1958), with the medium of pencil and black ink, depicts a wrongfully accused husband. Entitled "To Nicky from Willard" this piece is copyrighted 1949, by New Syndicate Co. Inc. The second, by Gus Edson (American 1901-1966), of pencil and black ink depicts a heroic young boy who captured the "Acme Express Company Bombers." The number 2 is written in black on the upper right corner, under the mat. It has a copyright of 1950 by News Syndicate Co. Inc., and is signed "To Nicky From Gus Edson." SS 7.25 x 23.25 in., DOA 10.5 x 25 in.; SS 7.25 x 23 in.; DOA 10.5 x 25 in.

The Willard has seven pinholes to the top and one to the bottom border, visible out of frame, and slight toning from mat. The Edson has light toning under mat and area of editing to center scene above the boy's shoulder, measuring 1.25 x 1 in.
