Both black crayon drawings as follows: "Morris Canal, South Paterson, New Jersey," signed lower right with monogram, inscribed by artist along lower margin "Morris Canal South Paterson Nov 2.09 / 5.30 PM," matted in composition frame. SS 7.25" x 5.25"; DOA 11.5" x 9.5" "View at Newark, New Jersey," signed with monogram lower left, inscribed by artist "Newark Oct 28 - 16 S 3 P.", in composition frame. SS 5" x 6"; 9.5" x 11.5" Bluemner was a friend to Alfred Steiglitz and a celebrated modernist. His enduring work was the subject of a monographic retrospective at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, 2005 - 2006.

Both frames scuffed.

Private Collection. The artist's estate to his son, Robert Bluemner, 1938 - 1968; to private collection, 1968 - 2009.
