Scale Steamboat Model, The "City of Fayetteville"

Built under commission by John Ford, circa 1974, for a Wilmington, NC maritime museum, depicted is a twin-stacked sternwheeler of wooden construction, protected by a custom Plexiglas case set into a stepped wooden plinth. The "City of Fayetteville" carried passengers and cargo on the lower Cape Fear for roughly ten years commencing in 1903. She mysteriously sank in Wilmington at the Champion Compress docks on September 29, 1913.

The case has several scuffs and drill holes, whereas the model appears to be in very good condition.
