Late 19th century or early 20th century, the vase body is divided into three bands of decoration: the top is plain, the central body is decorated in raised relief with birds amongst foliage in flight in gold, copper, and other mixed metals, the bottom band is decorated with a rattan basket design, this combination of techniques is rarely seen in Japanese bronzes.
