Circa 1900, this whimsical and fine heron is fashioned from silver, it stands with wings relaxed and meticulous details to its feathers, the heron's body holds the rosewater and it then is emitted through the circular ball in its mouth, a circular ball shaped cap on the back of the heron's neck twists off to reveal a well through which the rosewater can fill the body, such sprinklers were used in India at important ceremonies such as weddings to scent rooms also offered to guests as they arrived so they might freshen up after a journey.
