20th century, apocryphal Qianlong seal to the bottom, very intricately designed and carved, red lacquer raised over mainly black ground, a complex carving of 'Chun' character on the lid which means spring with circle medallion containing the God of Longevity, around this character are two dragons circling in cloud swirls, the side is carved in reserves with scholars gathered in a garden, a popular theme for lacquer works during the Qing dynasty.

Diameter: 13.5 in.

Overall excellent condition; repaired crack on the interior near rim that does not affect the exterior; three small spots of white pigment on lid.
