A Pair of Chinese Foo Lion Paintings
Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Ink, colors, and gilt on paper, probably from a bound book, two vertical depictions of foo lions with swirling soft hair and spotted bodies, both stand by peony blossoms on a rock formation, very expressive detail given to their faces, framed in identical gilded bamboo frames under glass, not examined outside of frames.

SS: 12.5 x 9 in.; DOA: 17.75 x 13.75 in.

Both have holes down one side probably from previously being bound as a book; black ink smudging on paper; toning of paper; some minor creasing of paper.
