With an apocryphal six character carved mark at lower left corner that reads "Da Ming Xuan de nian zhi" (Made during the Xuande reign of the Great Ming dynasty), this panel was formerly part of a larger screen as evident from metal fitting on the side, very finely carved with shaped medallions with scenes of Chinese sages and immortals in outdoor landscapes, raised flower blooms over a diaper pattern background.
