Lot Details & Additional Photographs
The first: a vintage cartone by Giuseppe Magagnoli ("Maga") (Italian, 1878-1933), Americano Bianco, 1920s, lithograph in colors on cardboard, retains gallery label to frame backing; the second: an offset print after an original advertisement for St. Raphaël Quinquina; presented in uniform matting and framing.

SS 10 x 6 1/2 in.; DOA 15 1/2 x 12 in. (the second slightly larger)

International Poster Gallery, Boston, MA (the first)

The first is an original cartone. Cartones were advertisements used as in-store displays. They hung in storefront windows, behind cash registers, or near the items they were advertising by string woven through the top of the sign (original string still intact here).

Some light toning and several minor scuffs, primarily to the first; not examined out of frames.
