Edo period (1615-1868), 18th century, with an apocryphal Chenghua mark to underside, hand painted in underglaze blue with a sweeping landscape scene of thatched houses by a river with mountains in background, in varying shades of of blue showing contrast and depth to the overall scene, the landscape decoration is repeated on the edges of the underside of the plate, five spur marks by the hand painted mark on underside.
