Two Peruvian Silver Desk Objects

The first a small bowl with bail handles and raised on three hairy paw feet, marked "Plata Fina 0900" to base, with hand-chased floral and foilate decoration (6.05 troy oz., 2 x 5.75 in. diameter) (some mis-shaping to rim, verdigris in areas); the second a .925 silver clad casket with velvet lined interior and featuring Pre-Columbian decorative motifs (2.75 x 6 x 4 in.) (good estate condition).

From the estate of Emily Manning, born into poverty in Milledgeville, Georgia, who made her way to Duke University and to Lima, Peru, where she met her husband. From Peru to Peoria, Glasgow to Geneva, they lived a wonderful life before settling down in Asheville, NC.
