Paris, early 19th century, maker's mark of Lebrun to base, with rubbed hallmarks below rim, elegant form with extended pouring spout, the curving handle with finely chased palmette and foliate design and terminating in a Roman mask.

Marc-Augustin Lebrun registered his mark in 1810 and maintained a shop at 40 Quai des Orfèvres in Paris. A full tea set and tray with his mark is in the collection of The Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, MA.
