A Very Fine Japanese Kutani Porcelain Plaque

19th century, painted with three boys gathered by the riverside, tarashikomi technique used to detailed the rocks and grass groupings, ink wash gives movement to the waves, the boys faces are soft and delicate, the border is full of decadent Kutani designs in iron red and gilt, a key motif surrounds the rim, signed on the upper right hand side of the plaque with artist's name and red artist's seal, on the reverse is an inscription, created with indentions on reverse near top for hanging.

DOA 14.5 x 18.25 in.

Very good condition; a drying crack on center front; tape remains in upper left corner.
