Edo period (1615-1868), 18th century, two panel with gold leaf background clouds, a pine tree covered in snow sits on the right panel of the screen with bamboo at its base and an autumn colored vine wrapping around its trunk, there is a blue stream flowing by the tree with elegant curving lines, five sheets of paper vertically.

On reverse of screen is a handwritten label reading Samurai Shokai Benten dori Yokohama and a shipping label to London WC2. The Samurai Shokai was considered one of the most respected antique houses of Japanese art during the late 19th and early 20th century in Japan, established by Yozo Nomura in 1894.
