English, 20th century, the oak handle features a dragon head at one end and a representation of wind at the other end, relief carved "Selby Abbey" and "Old Oak 1069," Birmingham silver collar with date mark for 1928-1929, oak shaft, rubber tip. Selby Abbey, founded in 1069 in Yorkshire, had a large section of it's roof destroyed by fire in 1906. This lot is from a small group of walking sticks made from the salvaged beams.
