Meiji period (1868-1912), signed Kanzan in iron red to underside of vase, a globular body with thin elegant neck, the body is decorated with finely painted birds and flowers in polychrome enamels and gilt, neck has an elaborate golden phoenix surrounded by Chinese clouds.
