Small Katana or Large Wakizashi

Mid-20th century, the 21.5 in. blade perhaps earlier with a prominent hayman and signed tang; the scabbard of lacquered wood with painted decorative patterns; a brass collar circles a wooden or the brass tsuba cast with floral motifs; the grip above is ray skin within a fabric wrap.

Lacquer losses to the scabbard; light oxidation to the blade.
