20th century, ink and colors on paper, the first is a female bunraku doll in vertical print format, signed "Kiyoshi Saito" with red artist's seal "Kiyoshi" in lower left corner, and a summer landscape in horizontal print format, signed "Kiyoshi Saito" with red artist's seal "Kiyoshi" in lower left corner, both framed identically under glass, not examined outside of the frame.

Kiyoshi Saito is regarded as one of the great Japanese print artists of the 20th century. He was one of the first artists of the Japanese Sosaku Hanga movement whose art became successful and awarded by an international audience. He had a special fondness for depicting picturesque village scenes.
