Edo period (1615-1868), circa 1800, Arita ware, a mottled porcelain brush pot, unusual for its evidence of finger modeling throughout the vertical vessel, showing the hand of the artist, hand painted in underglaze blue with two "foreigners" also referred to a Namban style where the Japanese started adding mainly Dutchman figures to their ceramics or figures in the foreigner's dress style, with four-character mark to underside.
