Circa 1933-39, Kyoraku sanju dai series, published by Uchida Bijutsu Shoten, included prints are Imperial Palace, Daimonji, Gion Festival, Kinkakuji among others, a stunning arrangement of some of the most notable images from this series by Tokuriki and very fine examples of Shin Hanga from this period, all identically framed in natural bamboo with tan mat under glass, not examined outside of frame.

Tokuriki was a leader in the Sosaku Hanga movement in Kyoto, but his prints before World War II reflect the Shin Hanga style of depicting natural landscapes and scenic Japanese places such as in this series. After the war, Tokuriki established his own publishing company and served as publisher for many notable artists of the Sosaku Hanga movement as well as teaching preeminent contemporary print artists such as Daniel Kelly.
