Meiji period (1868-1912), signed to underside Dai Nippon Satsuma kuni Kinkoku sei with a satsuma mon and chrysanthemum above, the dish with flared rim with scalloped edges is finely and heavily potted and hand painted with meticulous detail featuring three of the immortal gods of good fortune and in the background dozens of detailed faces of male bearded figures holding fly whisks, jeweled staffs, and other attributes, polychrome enamels and heavily gilded, underside has very fine crackle, a stunning masterpiece by Kinkoku intended for imperial use.
