The monogram may be that of Henry Joseph Breuer (CA/NY, 1860-1932). Breuer was born in Philadelphia, studied art in Buffalo, NY, worked for several years as a designer/decorator at Rookwood Pottery, and eventually settled in California.

Some loss to corners of frame; light surface grime to painting and abrasions in upper left corner.
