Qing dynasty (1644-1911), probably 18th century, dark orange wool with nine silk embroidered theatrical figures wearing elaborate costumes and some with bold masks posed in aerobic or dancing positions, two figures have real hair attached to their embroidered beards, all figures surrounded by embroidered flora and foliage, there is a blue silk folded band along the top of the immensely long tapestry, all hand stitched, presented loose.
