Late 19th or early 20th century, ink and color on paper, a male ancestor is depicted wearing formal court robe with civil rank badge depicting a pheasant, seated on a throne chair with floral covering, the woman in contrast has much more lush detail to her red dragon court robe with bats, stunning mandarin collar, elaborate headdress and earrings, seated on a chair with cloud details and a finely rendered rug with birds and flowers, her face shows much more detail and her lips are shown slightly parted revealing her teeth, both framed, not examined outside of the frame.

DOA 30.25 x 16 in.

Paper has some creasing, repairs, and loss especially at top of portraits; some scratching and loss to pigment on male figure's robe; frames have wear and frame for male portrait has breaks at two of the corners.
