A Group of Early Jugtown Pottery
Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Clear glazed earthenware, some with "mistake" glaze, attributed to Ben Owen, to include: a lidded pitcher, a lidded bean pot, a covered sugar and a creamer; a chamber stick; four cups with saucers; two small bowls.

Pitcher 6 x 7 in.

From the Collection of Mary Wells, Greensboro, North Carolina

Glazed earthenware with "mistake" spotting is caused by the presence of salt in the kiln.

Cups and saucers in fair condition; other pieces have no chips or hairlines but small glaze flakes common with early earthenware.
