Qing dynasty (1644-1912), late 19th century, each black lacquered panel is adorned with finely enameled cloisonne of birds and flora, within a carved wooden frame with
shou characters, bats, dragons and foliate scrolls, the reverse is painted in red and gold with scrolling lotus blossoms and foliage radiating from a central sunburst peony blossom.

Private Collection, Western, North Carolina A very similar screen was sold at Sotheby's, New York, September 17, 2013, lot 224, and at Christie's, Paris, December 7, 2007.
Some minor loss to enamel near nail heads; one panel with area of loss to upper edge of panel some chipping to one foot wooden frame; later small drilled holes to top of wooden panels for hanging; lacking pins; minor scratches and loss to lacquer.
