Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Late 1950s, nearly illegible serial number T3936 15 (?), dark sunburst finish, binding to top and back, wide 16 in. lower bout; original tuners. Includes softshell case.
Private Collection, Kittrell, North Carolina Sold as is. This guitar has a 10.5 in. crack going from the top's tenor edge downward along the back of the pickguard and ending at the bridge; the bridge itself is starting to lift ever so slightly; the guitar also has the normal wear and tear associated with most well-played Gibsons, including crazing to the finish. Despite its issues (and ancient strings), this guitar still has that deep booming sound that is cherished by Gibson fans worldwide.
