Circa 1900, the violin with a one-piece maple back, later fine tuners and a modern chin rest; included are a Glasser bow with apparently new hair and an un-marked bow needing hair. With 20th century hardshell case.

This violin carries a printed label reading "Repaired by Joseph O. Westcott, Whitinsville, Mass. A. D. 1915 (the year in pencil). Mr. Westcott did a remarkable job fixing a 4 in. crack on the back, two long cracks on the bass side, two long cracks and one small crack on the top. His work has endured for 104 years and seems as solid as if the instrument had never been broken; this violin will need a new bridge. The case has plenty of road wear, but remains quite serviceable.
