Late 18th or early 19th century, carved lacquered and gilded wooden Buddha seated with his hands in the Bhumisparsha mudra, or "earth touching gesture," his hands and feet are elongated and flat, his eyes are almost closed in meditation, elongated princely ears, and tiny knots of wisdom pattern for his hair, the underside of the sculpture has a carved notch platform.
