A four piece service including a teapot (LOA 12.5 in.), sugar bowl with cover, creamer, and waste bowl; each with mark of Colin Van Gelder Forbes and John Wolfe Forbes of New York, NY, circa 1819, each with monogram "VBJ" to waist, of restrained elegant design with foliate knees and ball & claw feet, carved ebony handle to teapot, sugar bowl and teapot each retain the likely original carved finial.

Sugar bowl with dent to body, two slightly pressed in to body, old solder repair to base of one handle, and replaced knop to finial; teapot with a few minor dents, front two legs slightly pressed in; creamer with three legs slightly pressed in; waste bowl slightly out of square.
