20th century, the hinged cover decorated in gold and coloured hiramakie, with a a pair of cranes flying elegantly with wings outstretched, signed on lower left of cover Namiki in Japanese followed by individual artist's name and red seal, the interior of the case with gold wash and hiramakie with double coiled ban, with fitted wooden box, purchased in Japan during the late 1940s.
