Late 19th century, circular satinwood top with molded edge, carved and gilt gesso base featuring a bellflower skirt, stop-fluted legs, on shaped stretcher base.

30 x 36 in diameter.

From the home of Durham philanthropist and banker, John Sprunt Hill, and his wife, Annie Watts Hill, who was the only daughter of George W. Watts, an original partner in the American Tobacco Corporation

Fair condition; top with shrinkage cracks, scratches, and staining; joint looseness to base with gesso chips; breaks to stretcher.
