Born in Andhra Pradesh, Thota Vaikuntam received a Diploma in Painting at the College of Fine Arts and Architecture, Hyderabad and then a Diploma in Painting and Printmaking at Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda.

His bold structured compositions and saturated colors convey the sensuality and solemnity of his figures, many of which are inspired by the men and women of Telangana.

Thota Vaikuntam has exhibited widely - featuring in solo and group shows in Hyderabad, Bangalore, New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, New York, and Singapore.
